  • Case: Foundry Institute
  • Region: Lansi Suomi
  • Foundry Institute is a nationally and internationally known educational, research and development unit which combine several educational institutes and research centres for promoting Finnish foundry technology and foundry industry.

1st Finalist:

  • Case: Fundación Valencia Port
  • Region: Comunitat Valenciana
  • The Foundation functions as a research and training centre of excellence serving all agents in the transport and logistic chains, particularly in the port and maritime sectors.

2nd Finalist:

  • Case: Development and training project for electronics production in Tampere region
  • Region: Lansi Suomi
  • At this project, several universities, colleges and polytechnics acted as trainers and cooperation partners for SMEs in need of education.

Recognition:

  • Case: Global grant of the C3 Measure, Higher Education-Integrated University Masters Academic years 2002-2003, 2003-2004, 2004-2005-Regional Operational Plan-Symposium Consortium.
  • Region: Emilia Romagna
  • The SYMPOSIUM Consortium has been developed to facilitate people's access to Integrated University Masters conceived and implemented by the Universities of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the accredited structures of vocational training.Its aim is to fill the gap between job demand and offer through the creation of informal networks linking research/training/university institutions with companies inside and outside the Region.

Recognition:

  • Production Technology Organization (PTO) - The First Cooperative education Degree.
  • Region: Austria
  • PTO is not only the pioneer for cooperative education in Austria, it also distinguishes itself from predecessors (US, Germany) by focussing on the continuous knowhow transfer to regional SMEs.
